Senior to be Spencer Passmore from Corning has verbally committed to Hobart College to play for Head Coach Greg Raymond, who is a Corning East 2000 graduate .
Spencer burst onto the scene of Section Four Lacrosse with a huge game against Ithaca with 2 goals and 3 assists. This was the first victory for the Corning Hawks over Ithaca since combining East and West lacrosse programs in 2011.
The 6'4" left handed midfielder created all sorts of mismatches for opponents, because of his ability to dodge past smaller defenders and also crank from the outside when they sagged off him.
Siena was another school very interested in Spencer and he visited both schools, but settled on the Statesmen, because of their proximity and tradition in Upstate New York. The fact that they had just named a new coach that he had grown up watching play great high school lacrosse was the final part of his decision.
Passmore becomes the second Hawk from the Class of 2015 to commit to a Division One Lacrosse program. Defender Austin Cates verbally committed this winter to the new Division One Lacrosse program at Richmond University in Virginia.
