    Lax Dreams Standout Rankin Named to 2017 Brine All-America All Star Classic

    Sweetlax Invitational Brings Green Initiatives to Sporting Events

    Pittsford, NY (June 13, 2017) - Sweetlax Lacrosse announced their annual Sweetlax Summer Invitational coming June 23-25, 2017. Top club teams from around the country attend in an event that will showcase players to college coaches from Ivy League schools and ACC teams amongst many other conferences and universities. This is the fifth year the event will be hosted in Pittsford and is the largest invitational to date. The three-day event will bring in more than 150 college coaches and 64 club teams to the area.

    This year, the Sweetlax Invitational is partnering with Impact Earth to bring a sustainability initiative to our event. Impact Earth is a zero-waste solution that provides events with personalized training on sustainable practices. This year, Impact Earth will be setting up zero-waste education stations at all field locations.

    “We were so excited to find the Impact Earth team and take our events to the next level,” said Jessica Pacitto, ML8 Event Coordinator for the Sweetlax Invitational. “Any steps that we can take to making our events sustainable is important to both us and the families that attend our events.”

    In addition to the zero-waste solution, the Sweetlax Invitational will have the Refill Not Landfill Campaign at the Calkins Road Middle School field with their water buffalo hydration station. The campaign promotes a reduction of plastic water bottles to cut down on waste. Pacitto added, “We look forward to seeing how the initiatives go at all upcoming events and seeing where we can take this in the future!”

    Auburn Lacrosse and Champions for Life, Inc., will host the 2017 Upstate Lacrosse Association opening weekend

    Auburn, NY - The Auburn boys and girls lacrosse programs have teamed up with Champions for Life to host the Upstate Lacrosse Association opening weekend on June 16 and 17, 2017. 

     

    Two hundred teams from throughout Central New York will converge on Auburn over Father’s Day weekend, playing in 200 games of lacrosse at Auburn High School and at Everest Park in what will be one of the largest opening weekends in ULA history! Lacrosse players in kindergarten through eighth grade, along with their families, will be arriving in Auburn for this annual tournament on Friday, June 16. The first games start at 5:00 pm, with play lasting until sundown on Friday, and picking back up on Saturday morning, and lasting until Saturday around 5:00 pm. Over the course of the weekend, tournament directors estimate that 14,000 people will make their way to Auburn to enjoy the lacrosse festivities with their children.

    Under Armour Announces Rosters and Head Coaches for Girls All-America Lacrosse Game

    Baltimore, Md. (May 23, 2017)— Under Armour, in conjunction with Corrigan Sports Enterprises and Inside Lacrosse, is thrilled to announce the North and South team rosters that will take the field the 12th-annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Game on July 1 at Towson University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium. The girls’ game will get underway at 5:30 p.m., immediately followed by the boys’ game at 8:00 p.m.
